Play Me, I’m Yours: Blackburn & Burnley 2010
From the 8th – 29th July 2010, 23 street pianos will be distributed across Burnley and Blackburn as part of Creativity Works LET project. Located in public parks, streets and squares, the pianos are for any member of the public to play. The pianos are also for the public to decorate and personalise.
Touring internationally since 2008, “Play Me, I’m Yours” is an artwork by artist Luke Jerram. This website is made for the public to post their comments, films and photos about the pianos. Whilst documenting each piano’s journey the website will connect the pianos and their communities across the city. After the event the pianos are offered as a donation to local schools and community groups.
This is the first time Play Me I’m Yours has been presented in Northern England. It is brought to you by Burnley Borough Council and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, in association with BBC Radio Lancashire.
