Downtown, Chemeketa & Liberty Streets

Open 8am-10pm.  This piano will be decorated by Culture Shock Community Project on Saturday, July 14 from 1-4pm, and the public is invited to view the process.

Chemeketa and Liberty was our 4th stop (of 9) today as we ventured forth on your 'piano scavenger hunt.' Debbie sat down with another woman (who had stopped by with her friend) for the two of them to play Chopsticks. It was great! I wish pianos and other creative endeavors like this could be happening on our streets and in our neighborhoods all the time! Thank you everyone who made this possible!

One of our favorite pianos! We loved looking at the photos and stories that were used to decorate it.

This is the tenth stop on Nick and Tristan's July 17th, 2012 bike tour of the Salem, Oregon-area, Play Me, I'm Yours, street pianos! At each of the 11 pianos both of us played a spontaneous composition (in one take only, mistakes and all!) and recorded a video. We started at 3:00 p.m., biked to each stop, and arrived at the last piano at 11:57 p.m. This particular video was accompanied by a semi truck nearly the whole time, but so be it! Glad to be a part of this project and thanks to Luke Jerram for such a phenomenal idea!

The only grand piano part of Play Me, I'm Yours - Salem 2012 is prepped and decorated by Culture Shock Community Project. Plenty of people wanted to play it on that busy downtown intersection.
