It was like autumn (Halloween?) carolling ~ Walter Sickert's piano was the 2nd stop on our ultra mini Street Pianos Tour, 10.11.13.

Report this commentUnfortunately the piano was locked when we got there around 11 am today (it was supposed to be open from 10 am), so my kids didn't get to try it; instead they played with acorns on top of the gorgeous piano. It's too bad today was the last day of the exhibit - we would have loved to try out more of these beauties!

The piano is visually rich and stimulating, the music is haunting and I'm lucky by coincidence to be there when the Jaggery band arrives to perform.

Report this commentMy name is Jill Santos and I'm the current Miss Mendocino County from California. My platform is Music and Art Therapy for the Elderly and piano is the main source of therapy I provide for them, which is why finding these pianos was so special to me. I was in Boston for five days for an Alzheimer's Symposium at Harvard with my mom, and as soon as we learned about the pianos, we printed the map and searched for them all! Unfortunately we couldn't extend our trip anymore, but I did find 47 of them. It has been a wonderful adventure and experience playing in special places and meeting new people all over Boston. :)
