Sight-reading "Feed My Sheep", the sheet music on the piano, forgive my mistakes! Got to play 52/75 pianos during the last week, loved the whole experience! I played and recorded a different song at every piano, check out my journey at

My name is Jill Santos and I'm the current Miss Mendocino County from California. My platform is Music and Art Therapy for the Elderly and piano is the main source of therapy I provide for them, which is why finding these pianos was so special to me. I was in Boston for five days for an Alzheimer's Symposium at Harvard with my mom, and as soon as we learned about the pianos, we printed the map and searched for them all! Unfortunately we couldn't extend our trip anymore, but I did find 47 of them. It has been a wonderful adventure and experience playing in special places and meeting new people all over Boston. :)

The 2nd piano I've played that isn't on the street. Very nice piano to play though.

Sally Wilson and Zoe Design principals, Lena Fransioli and Doug Garrabrants, discuss the potential design decisions for the street piano, as we finalize our concept and get ready for execution. The theme is a "stair carpet runner" wrapping the front of the piano. The central portion is a digital image of guinea fowl feathers, taken by Garrabrants and made into paper.

Here is Lena, from Zoe Design, putting the finishing touches of gold pinstripe on the border. We conceived of this as a carpet runner, running up and down the piano. The central part is digitally photographed guinea fowl feathers, and an ikat border, both created by Doug Garrabrants, from Zoe Design.

On day 2 of the street pianos festival, Sally Wilson plays Bach on her team's piano. Creating this piano was such fun for all the designers involved. It was the best! Thanks to Zoe Design, Fantastic Finishes, and of course, Wilson Kelsey Design, who began the process.
