Report this commentMy name is Jill Santos and I'm the current Miss Mendocino County from California. My platform is Music and Art Therapy for the Elderly and piano is the main source of therapy I provide for them, which is why finding these pianos was so special to me. I was in Boston for five days for an Alzheimer's Symposium at Harvard with my mom, and as soon as we learned about the pianos, we printed the map and searched for them all! Unfortunately we couldn't extend our trip anymore, but I did find 47 of them. It has been a wonderful adventure and experience playing in special places and meeting new people all over Boston. :)

Report this commentThe 2nd piano I've played that isn't on the street. Very nice piano to play though.

Report this commentSally Wilson and Zoe Design principals, Lena Fransioli and Doug Garrabrants, discuss the potential design decisions for the street piano, as we finalize our concept and get ready for execution. The theme is a "stair carpet runner" wrapping the front of the piano. The central portion is a digital image of guinea fowl feathers, taken by Garrabrants and made into paper.

Here is Lena, from Zoe Design, putting the finishing touches of gold pinstripe on the border. We conceived of this as a carpet runner, running up and down the piano. The central part is digitally photographed guinea fowl feathers, and an ikat border, both created by Doug Garrabrants, from Zoe Design.
