Report this commentPiano 25/40!
When I got to this piano, a street musician was set up across the alley playing guitar with recorded accompaniment. I waited for a while to see if he was going to move on, but so many people just plunked the piano keys as they walked by, while he was playing, that I figured it was probably okay to play, too!

Report this commentGreat city and great idea to have pianos located throughout the town. My daughter and I were on our way back from NY where we saw Phantom of the Opera. I asked my daughter to play my favorite song at several of the pianos we passed while walking the Freedom Trail.

Report this commentMy name is Jill Santos and I'm the current Miss Mendocino County from California. My platform is Music and Art Therapy for the Elderly and piano is the main source of therapy I provide for them, which is why finding these pianos was so special to me. I was in Boston for five days for an Alzheimer's Symposium at Harvard with my mom, and as soon as we learned about the pianos, we printed the map and searched for them all! Unfortunately we couldn't extend our trip anymore, but I did find 47 of them. It has been a wonderful adventure and experience playing in special places and meeting new people all over Boston. :)

Report this comment3 of the Youth Design teen artists who designed and created the piano decor: Khyle Parke, a Boston Arts Academy senior in the visual arts (who also plays piano), Phil Hoa, recent graduate of East Boston High School, and Shirley Fang, a senior at Boston Latin School. So great to see people enjoying our artwork!

Report this commentPhotographing the pianos while they are being played is so much fun! I love the idea of public places becoming spontaneous music venues. More shots http://flic.kr/s/aHsjK8fudv
