Report this commentI'm a Boston singer/songwriter, and met so many great people with the street pianos. I ended up playing 53/75, and performed a different song at each piano, you can watch them all at

Report this commentMy name is Jill Santos and I'm the current Miss Mendocino County from California. My platform is Music and Art Therapy for the Elderly and piano is the main source of therapy I provide for them, which is why finding these pianos was so special to me. I was in Boston for five days for an Alzheimer's Symposium at Harvard with my mom, and as soon as we learned about the pianos, we printed the map and searched for them all! Unfortunately we couldn't extend our trip anymore, but I did find 47 of them. It has been a wonderful adventure and experience playing in special places and meeting new people all over Boston. :)

Report this commentHere's Henry again, following the same piano tour, becoming my "prop" in the process.

Report this commentIn the absence of a piano player I was photographing folds in the plastic tarp when a lovely subject walked right in.

Report this commentOpera on Tap, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen the presence of Opera in Boston. We do this by providing opportunities for local artists, promoting local companies, and by reaching those that might not normally attend an opera performance. We bring opera to the uninitiated by performing in bars, rock venues, and other alternative spaces (like Rowes Wharf!). while providing opportunities for the performers who keep the art form alive. In this picture, OOT member, Marie McCarville wows the lunch crowd with Sempre Libera from Verdi's La Traviata.

Report this commentLook who we ran into when we were playing Broadway showtunes yesterday - CS's beloved Martha Jones, who was grinning from ear to ear with pride at seeing the Street Pianos!
