NKU Musical Theatre Students pause to give an impromptu concert of musical theatre repertoire around the piano on the plaza on a beautiful afternoon in September. What a great experience! Thanks for the inspiration!!!

This is the second week of our new semester and I had an Art Walk scheduled today for my Honors Freshman Compositioin class in Exploring the Arts. We stopped at the piano, of course, and one of my students, Bethany Metzner, played part of a Bach Partita. I thought she did a great job, even with that one sticky key, and her classmates did too.

Thirty ninth stop- Northern Kentucky University, outside of the Student Union building. The piano here used to be located at Mainstrasse. It was in better shape the first time I played it...almost ALL of the B-flat keys were sticking. As a result, I couldn't play too much. No biggie, though, the campus was nearly completely devoid of people this Sunday.

I was so happy this piano was moved somewhere I could still get to easily. If I plan to keep up my streak of playing one every day, this one will get a lot of visits before the last day. I like this location better for the sound, but the day we visited there were a lot of other activities going on for incoming students. Also, where can someone park for free at NKU? The garage at the back used to be open, but now it's a pay as you leave deal.
