  3. Working on the piano top. Thanks to Neusole Glassworks for donating the red, white and blue glass shards I used for the mosaic style work.

  4. Being a part of "Play Me, I'm Yours" was a fantastic experience and opportunity. I used found objects and repurposed them to become a part of this artwork. Since the project is about community connection, it was very important to me to include items that had been used and touched by others before being recycled into this artwork. The hands I painted on this piece are a literal representation and an open invitation to the public to enjoy and play this piano.

Working with Chrissy and Kris, as well as Caroline at Oxford Community Art Center was a privilege. Thanks to Luke Jarrem for his vision and the donors for the piano itself. With so much funding for the arts being cut in so many areas, I'm dedicated to making public art. I look forward to watching and listening as people add music to the Oxford air.

  5. Through the generosity of the Fine Arts Fund, OCAC, our resident artists, and 4 other regional Arts Centers were invited to participate in this project. Other Arts Centers involved in this grant include Clifton Community Arts Center, Sharonville Arts Center, Kennedy Heights Arts Center and Mayerson JCC.

Under the theme of international unity, Kris Courtney was inspired to present abstract views of American and UK flags in brilliant primary colors. Chrissy Collopy added her avant-garde expressions, and Stephanie Zing contributed a delightful glass and found object mosaic to the work. Questioning the ownership and rules of public space 'Play Me I'm Yours' is a provocation, inviting the public to engage with, activate and take ownership of their urban environment.

By promoting a sense of community through music and art, “ Play Me, I’m Yours celebrates public radio’s service to the community, the Fine Arts Fund’s commitment to regional arts of all kinds, and OCAC’s commitment to inspiring the arts in our community.
