Report this commentAs part of my weekly series called Request Mondays, I took to the piano in North Hollywood at the El Portal to perform the Beatles' classic "Come Together". This street pianos thing is a great idea!

I absolutely love the concept of the 'Play Me I'm Yours' Piano Exhibit. I was fortunate enough to be able to experience the exhibit in North Hollywood. Thank you for this wonderful display of Art in our beautiful city.

Playing "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" at the very theater where I first saw the movie with my mom! This performance was dedicated to my parents. Great to see the theater still rockin' after all these years!

Getting more practice on piano #8 for me. I love how this event has taken me to new areas of town. Such an adventure! Thank you, "Play Me, I'm Yours!"

Report this commentPlaying Force MDs' "Tender Love" on the El Portal Street Piano on Friday, April 20. I ran into two women, Dzigbodi (who held the camera for this video) and Cassandra, playing on the piano and one of them told me she recognized me from my Union Station YouTube video that was featured on LAist.com!

She and I formed our first band in 1996 - when she got a shy pianist to unleash her inner soul singer. Thanks to Play Me I'm Yours, she and I played music together tonight for the first time in 15 years. :)

In a series of three live street performances, chief waKiL joins the "Play Me, I'm Yours" movement playing a few of his favorites along the way. His first stop: the El Portal Theater performing "Free". Shot and edited by Dimonique Davis (https://dimedavis.tumblr.com)
Needless to say -- we had fun! ;-)
