I might have played all 30 installed pianos during "Play Me, I'm Yours" but my quest was not completed until about 2 months later when LACO was wonderful enough to bring back their Traveling Piano (a.k.a. "La-La") for a Summer tan at the Central Library during Make Music Los Angeles on June 21st! My friend Keith, who works at the Library, brought some bongos to work and we had a little performance right there!
Later, there was a fire alarm at the Library and everyone went outside. So we made the best use of the time an entertained the very large crowd :)
Later that evening, we did a concert at the Chinatown street piano!

Report this commentSandy Nixon is a retiree, traveling notary, and she's been playing piano since she was five years old. I happened to have my camera on me while at the La Brea Tar Pits and heard her playing the Los Angeles Traveling Street Piano. She was kind enough to let me record her. If only I had my field recorder with me too! (Sorry for the bad sound.)
