Report this commentWe performed one of our newest songs, "Stifled" on May 1st at Union Station. It was incredible to see people actually stop and listen; but even better was the protest that entered through the station right as we ended the song. I'm really bummed we didn't get to go around and perform on more of the pianos in LA! This was incredible.

Report this commentSo lovely to hear in the midst of busy commuter rush hour! Another day I saw two young teen girls hesitatingly sit down to this. I wish this one could stay!

Report this commentSo, we heard about this awesome art installation called "Play Me, I'm Yours" where "Thirty pianos, designed and decorated by local artists and community organizations, are featured across Los Angeles County and are available for everyone to play"
What an awesome idea, we thought. Wait a second, we thought. We live in LA. And we never actually have a piano to play with (we usually use Will's crappy Midi Controller). This could be a chance to play some awesome pianos FOR FREE. So, on short notice, I grabbed my friends (I enlisted the talents of Andrea Wang and Liz Jaureguy, as well as the camera capabilities of my good friend, Matt Young) and headed to the closest free piano we could find. Unfortunately, it was raining that day so we needed to find something indoors. LUCKILY, the piano installed at Union Station was enclosed in a marvelous acoustic setting (despite being filled with generally happy and appreciative homeless folks at 11PM). We came, we played, and we had a great time. We even got some business cards.

Report this commentThis was a great experience for me. I was just getting off of the Gold Line metro train when I saw the painted piano. This was an opportunity I couldn't miss! Thanks for doing this streetpianos. I play piano at La Plaza UMC at Olvera Street and Lake Avenue Church. Awesome!
