  1. I would love to know who the black guy playing the Millenium Bridge piano on Sat 3 July at 9pm was. Please find him! He was abolutely fantastic on the piano - I'd pay to watch him play at RFH/South Bank complex or any other venue.

I think he has also played in a red shirt at the Monument piano. Amazing talent!
  2. The piano cam showed an empty piano stool, an unplayed piano at 7 a.m. this morning ... I put aside my other plans – I was playing the Millennium Bridge piano by soon after 9 a.m. – and then I found and played the piano in the courtyard at St Barts Hospital. I’ve now played all 21 pianos (and the other piano in Devonshire Sq) and am continuing to enjoy playing a piano whenever I am near one that is free :) Even if I am only murdering "Jesu, joy of man's desiring" (right hand only)
    .
I wish the pianos could be around for ever – it is good to play them, to hear other people playing them, to engage with strangers, sharing music and stories.

Thank you, Luke for this life-enhancing artwork.
  3. :) Katherine,
some people aren't willing to stand up to those who want the spotlight.

There is a young man sat on the steps (left hand side of the picture, dark t-shirt) who has been trying to get onto this piano for the best part of three hours. The 'gentleman' who has been 'assisting' everyone else has not helped those who are nervous.

Good to see others are being allowed on almost unhindered now.
  4. Hey Mark,

I understand frustrations about piano monopolising. I've spent a fair bit of time trekking around London hunting pianos, only to find myself waiting (first patiently and appreciatively and eventually less patiently) for someone else to finish.

At the same time I understand the desire to just keep playing once you're on, especially if you don't think there's anyone else waiting for a turn. I try to look around when I'm on to see if there's anyone obviously waiting for me to finish, and I'll usually ask people if they want a play.

It might just be a matter of making yourself known!

Meanwhile when I played this piano on Saturday (Day 5, Piano 9) the keys had sunk so it was really hard to get a sound.
Does anyone know if this has been fixed? It certainly sounds better on the live feed.
Also, what's happening with the link to NYC?
  5. Whilst I love this project, it's a real shame that some people have monopolised this piano this afternoon. It is one thing to be talented but it is another to be talented and share the applause.
