  1. stunning location and a good quality piano - great for getting a crowd - today radio 4 were recording at the piano and taking soundbytes. Great to have an audience for my original compositions. This kind of exposure would not be possible for people like me so thank you - and it was great to get to talk to Londoners and visitors to the city- please bring these pianos back every year and keep them out for a bit longer!

  3. This has been one of the best experiences I have had in London!
Some spanish people came over and I played their national anthem for them! they were so happy!. It was 3am in the morning almost.

    All the best,
    Cristian van Schuerbeck.
  4. The street piano initiative for the City of London Festival has brought so many people together and should stay long after the festival ends on Saturday. It could do for communities in London what the London Eye has done for the skyline.

Some of the more senior citizens who have sat down to play will remember a time when most London pubs had a piano that everyone would gather around and sing along to.

It's been so satisfying to see the reactions of passers-by. It's the closest thing to time travel I've seen with music being played from so many years ago. Just yesterday, a young German boy sat down and played ragtime. Katharine, Krystal, Joel and Benoit were a joy to listen to, sing along with and dance with. Paul and Stewart have also lit up that walk from St Pauls to the Millenium Bridge.

I mentioned it to one of the presenters on LBC a talkshow radio station.

It simply has to stay where it is at least unil the end of the Summer.
  5. I absolutely agree with all of you !
This idea is just pure magic.

I actually moved to London just 2 weeks ago, and as I was walking around the city, I found this piano (the millenium bridge one).

I spend all the night here, meeting some great people, playing with bulgarians girls (cello, violin), I've never had an experience like that anywhere else !

I came here almost every night then, and sometimes in the afternoon, and I must say that we can definitly see happiness on people faces !! They pass by, they stay, they listen, some play, we discuss, we meet, it just works !!!

So as Katherine was saying earlier, it would be so nice if this piano could stay here a bit longer ! People could enjoy the great weather while listening to pure music, and spread the joy everywhere !

So once again, thanks again for that, and I hope it will continue forever !!
