Play Me, I'm Yours

Melbourne: 2018

Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by British artist Luke Jerram.  More than 1850 pianos have now been installed in over 55 cities across the globe, from London to Lima, bearing the simple invitation to Play Me, I’m Yours. The project has already reached more than ten million people worldwide.

Arts Centre Melbourne presented Play Me, I’m Yours from Friday 19 January – Sunday 4 February 2018, as part of the Betty Amsden Participation Program. Decorated by community groups from all over Melbourne and led by artists from The Blender Studios – 21 pianos were located in public spaces; at Arts Centre Melbourne, the CBD and surrounds for anyone and everyone to play, so find a piano, pull up a stool and enjoy!  Six of the original pianos are still available to play, whilst the rest have been donated to the community groups that decorated them so are no longer available as part of this project.

Follow us on Facebook and @streetpianos, and check out the official hashtag #StreetPianosMelb on social media.

This website has been set up for you to post and share your films, photos and stories about the pianos. While documenting each piano’s journey, it connects the pianos and their neighborhoods across the city and acts as a legacy for the artwork. Choose a piano location to post and/or view films, photos, comments, and to find out who decorated it and what the opening hours are.
