Play Me, I'm Yours

Melbourne: 2018

Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by British artist Luke Jerram.  More than 1850 pianos have now been installed in over 55 cities across the globe, from London to Lima, bearing the simple invitation to Play Me, I’m Yours. The project has already reached more than ten million people worldwide.

Imagine … pianos popping up in the most unexpected places all over Melbourne.  Arts Centre Melbourne will present Play Me, I’m Yours from Friday 19 January – Sunday 4 February 2018, as part of the Betty Amsden Participation Program.  Decorated by community groups from all over Melbourne, lead by artists from The Blender Studios and located in public spaces; at Arts Centre Melbourne, the CBD and surrounds, 20+ pianos will be out on the streets, available for anyone to play, so find a piano, pull up a stool and enjoy!

This website has been set up for you to post and share your films, photos and stories about the pianos. While documenting each piano’s journey, it connects the pianos and their neighborhoods across the city and acts as a legacy for the artwork. We will be announcing the locations of the pianos here in due course.  In the meantime follow us on Facebook and @streetpianos, and the Twitter Hashtag from the project is #streetpianosmelb and the same on Instagram.
