Looking for the piano to play - only to find out it's gone. So sad!

Report this commentDavid Wright - thanks for sharing. Each time I've come to Mesa to play the pianos, I've searched and searched as well. I'm sad to hear that it was vandalized and removed. But I am glad to know what happened.

Report this commentSooo sad - we searched and searched for this colorful piano. Finally we retreated to an air-conditioned car and went to find piano no. 21 at the main library. After playing there we came back, driving around the Convention Center grounds, and waiting in the heat to talk to someone at the box office. The sad news was we were told that the piano was removed because it had been vandalized! I imagine all the time and effort involved by the community group, artist and sponsor and the kindness of the donor in giving the community such a beautiful instrument to play, and it isn't appreciated by some. It is really too bad.
The neat thing to the story is the gal at the box office window was someone from the same office I had worked with nearly 20 years ago! Small world. It was great to see her and catch up and was worth waiting in the heat! Still wish David could have played the piano that would have been his 20th one, though.
(So that is the story behind why this photo is of the first piano David played at - piano No. 20, and not of piano No. 15)

Report this commentIt was great to see all of the talent and collaborated creativity that went into this neat piano. Of course the boys had a fun time "playing" it too.

Many hands worked together to make this piano a success! Thanks to all of the volunteers at CARE Partnership. It was an honor to be the artist assigned to your group. Everyone, come and play our piano!
