Events

The pianos are now gone, but here’s a list for posterity of all the events which took place.

On the 21st June, to celebrate the launch of “Play Me, I’m Yours” all of the New York street pianos were inaugurated by a special series of Make Music New York concerts, with a wide programme of performers spanning Hip Hop to Latin to Folk. See the schedule of events that took place.

I am going to play a song my father Vincent LaPolla wrote in 1950 called "Why I Like New York" to commemorate his 90th birthday this July. He was Brooklyn born and raised and a life long New Yorker. He was an amazing professional piano player and singer his whole life. This is the only song that he wrote and it really captures a New York feel. It is my honor to play it.
