Hello. Just came from the piano at Joyce Kilmer Park. Had a most lovely time. A woman and her 2 year old daughter were interested to see what I was talking about, a piano out in the open, and we walked to the piano together and hung out there for a while, while my baby played. Passerbys on their way to laundry or shopping would walk by, some would play a few bars, stating, "well, it says we can play it." Just awesome. Then, a group of 8-10 kids came over, squeezing themselves onto the piano bench and banging out tunes together, and the little girl on the end just kept dancing. So so cute! Thanks for unlocking the piano and the great fun that ensued.

We are very sorry that this piano was locked. The hours for this piano are 10 am - 4 pm. If you are available to lock this piano later (8 pm at the latest as Joyce Kilmer is in a residential area) please email us at pianos.singforhope@gmail.com.
Thanks!

I stopped by the piano on June 23st around 7:30pm, and it was a very sad site to see. The piano was covered in plastic and duct tape, locked, and unable to be played. I also noted that only the bench has been painted. The sign clearly stated that the piano would be unveiled on June 21st, but really, nothing had been done. I saw the Denver pianos over Memorial Day weekend, and the display was fabulous. When I found out that a piano had been installed in walking distance to my apartment, I was so excited to bring my baby to see. What a complete disappointment. I have the feeling that PUBLIC art is really only public in some communities.
