  1. On July 3, at 9:30 a.m., Jeff Laite (drum) and John Marshall (piano) played together for the first time since the Carter administration. Their initial forays into Lincoln Center performance were met with a standing ovation - or something resembling one - from the Lincoln Center police, who, once assured that the filming was for the Play Me, I'm Yours project, not only gave their consent but tapped their toes appreciatively. Marshall and Laite played for about forty minutes, including original compositions, spontaneous jams, a Jerry Lee Lewis workout and "Blue Rondo A La Turk." Here is a snippet of a an original blues in F called "State of the Bluenion," captured on iPhone for a new film called "Jazz On a Summer's Day 2."

  2. The culminating concert for Sing for Hope took place on Monday, July 5th, from 4 to 6 pm. Following the concert, the piano formerly in Damrosch Park stayed in the area by the Vivian Beaumont Theater. The placement of the piano here acoustically allowed the sound to carry across the plaza. I couldn't resist taking this shot from the relatively new grassy area (sorry, don't know the official title of it!).

  3. Cool Video how high the moon..
  4. I had some fans hanging around the piano who were a pleasure to play for. They were all residents @ St. Luke's Hospital. I told them that one of their ambulances was interfering w/my playing in Times Square, and it should've at least had the decency to set its siren to the same key I was playing in - LOL

  5. Afternoon of the 1st. A little construction going on, but a beautiful and sunny day.
