Bluegrass Jam (with Indian undertones). Slightly off topic as we moved from piano for a sidebar // Jul 6, 2010 at 11:52 am
After playing with these people on the piano, a few of us moved to the side ( to let others play) and had a side impromptu bluegrass (with Indian music undertones) jam. So while its not on the Tomkins piano, it came about at the same jam, so I thought it was ok to post.

My 9-year-old niece recently visited me in NYC - it was her first trip to the Big Apple. We live across the street from Tompkins Square Park, so my wife and I brought her there to show her the park, the playgrounds, and of course the piano!
I tried to impress her by playing some Kelly Clarkson (she's a big fan) but as you can see from the picture, I don't think she was too impressed.

Tom Casesa playing "St. Louie Blues" , The Cowboy dancing // Jul 4, 2010 at 1:30 am
Tom Casesa with Greg the Fiddler playing slow blues. I wish they would keep the pianos out past July 5. Its been a great way to bring people together and to lift the spirt of the city.
