"Working with an open brief I chose to undertake this project using only improvisational collage. Armed only with a scapel, scissors, compass cutter and a selection of found papers (and some glue) I approached this with no clear starting point or fixed result in mind. Instead whilst listening to a carefully selected ipod playlist I allowed the different papers and cut shapes to suggest where their positions might be and the different relationships between the scraps of paper gradually showed themselves. What emerges is a synaesthetic visualisation of improvisational jazz and abstract neo-classical compositions."
