My friend Devina and I played 6 pianos yesterday, and this had to be our favourite-- the sound was by far the best, it was a beautiful location (especially under that tree), and the artwork on the piano was fantastic! We were touched by a brilliant solo piano ballad played by a person before us, so we played (amongst others) The Whitlams' "Buy Now Pay Later" in a similar thread of atmosphere, plus bonus background sirens. Over the day we played everything from Vanessa Carlton, Alicia Keys and Jamiroquai to Randy Newman, Joni Mitchell and Regina Spektor. We met all sorts of strange and wonderful people, that would usually just walk on by and we would take no notice of each other's presence as individuals, but rather, as just another nameless person of the city's masses of people. One of the many things I liked about that which hasn't really been noted yet is that it bridged the generations, which I wish would happen more often! Once again, thanks for making this possible!

I have lived in Sydney for 10 years now and this is one of the most special things I've seen so far. I was walking home from the Art Gallery and stumbled across this piano in the park - I ended up staying for an hour, listening to some wonderful music and watching the bats fly overhead. Thank you to the American backpacker who played here last night - it was absolutely magical. I especially loved the Andrew Lloyd Weber medley. Congratulations to the organisers, I hope to see them back next year!
