Not sure what these disgruntled comments are about? At no point have I been, in any way what could be construed as being rude or 'usurpic' to anyone on the Street Piano's. I, if I may speak for myself, am in fact a professional musician. There is nothing more exciting and moving to me than seeing other musicians playing and enjoying what it is that I, personally, have spent my life trying to achieve, which is, communication through music with others.
Also, at no time, have I asked someone to get up so that I could play or commented on anyone's capacity as a pianist. To the contrary, I have spent the last week or so, photographing other pianists (what about you?), and joyously pasting these pictures on this cite.
Arrogance, rudness is not my way. I feel you must have the wrong person in mind, in which case I'm sorry that yours has been an unpleasant experience. If for some reason however you have misconstrued some comment I may have made or an action of mine that you percieved to be rude from me, then, I offer my sincere apology - "Sorry" - and of course, Godspeed.

THE PIANO HAS BEEN DRINKING,
NOT ME

I was in Perth listening to Triple JJJ and heard about the pianos being placed around Sydney. We found this piano at the QV Building Square at 1:30 in the morning and did not leave until about 2:30am in the morning. Met this gorgeous lady Teresa (one with the red beret) who had recently been tapping away on the ivories.
Our signature song was Summer Time and Hit The Road Jack. I agree with Michael, the sustain pedal and numerous keys were not functioning but we still had a blast.
We sang our signature songs at Sydney Hospital, Sydney Opera House, Museum of Contemporary Arts, St Mary's, not bad considering we were only in town for 5 days.
Looking forward to next year's festival and hope the pianos are apart of the program. Think we will extend our repertoire though :-)

Neilhoven,
I have NEVER said that I am good at the piano. But I just wanted to have a go and maybe a bit of fun, as was the entire point of this exercise. As Beethoven said, the people who dare to come out and play these are predominantly amateurs, not people who play every single day for hours on end.
Grow up, we're not all bloody "amus"ing people.
Girl playing.
