The Valleys – Y Cymoedd: 2018
Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by artist Luke Jerram. More than 1900 pianos have now been installed in over 60 cities across the globe, from Paris to Lima, bearing the simple invitation: Play Me, I’m Yours. The project has already reached more than ten million people worldwide.
The Valleys Task Force presented Play Me, I’m Yours from Monday 20 August to Sunday 9 September 2018. 10 street pianos, decorated by local artists and community groups, were located in parks, on the streets and in squares for the public to play and enjoy. This website has been set up for you to post and share your films, photos and stories about the pianos. Whilst documenting each piano’s journey, it connects the pianos and their communities across the city and acts as a legacy for the artwork. Playing in a very quiet environment with great acoustics - inside Forest visitor center - is always a challenge, so playing very gently not to be intrusive... Had a wonderful hike afterwards, beautiful hilly walkways!
