This is Bert and his wife from the Netherlands, visiting their daughter.
They are going to play all of them, hopefully.
It was lovely music, which attracted a small audience.

"Defaced", Margaret Whittaker?
Aren't the pianos for the use of the public??? Not just to play, but to personalize - or even vandalize? Isn't the point of the project for the community to take ownership of them???
I passed the piano this morning on my way to work, and saw their advertising. It might have been ugly as hell, but it was a lot more interesting than the music note cut outs, and was a lot more original too! That seems like a very primary school approach to "community involvement". If I were to crap inside the piano, it'd probably be the most artistic contribution - and certainly most original - to the project that anybody has made.

The ads had arrived by the time I was pounding away last night at about 9. It's a lovely little piano, this one. The sustain pedal's a bit stiff but I was able to play quite a few tunes in the breeze under cover of darkness.

I wish their art wasn't so prominent, but I can't help but sympathise as a fellow music teacher. I wish I thought of it first, I wouldn't mind a few new students.

These people have struck again and defaced our piano sydneymusiclessons.com.au
I suggest that such people who have no respect for a musical instrument should be boycotted . What sort of teachers would they make? We are doing our best to clean it off . They have even written on the keys ....
