As an amateur musician I can fully appreciate the dilemma of music teachers trying to attract new students. If you want to bring in a leaflet or handouts advertising your business we will be more than happy to display it near the piano, for people to take. I have offered this facility to the people who 'defaced' our piano and any other music or singing teachers, choir directors etc are more than welcome to bring us some advertising material.
We would also love any teachers to come by and do a recital as an advertisement - book in a time and we will advertise it on the web !!!
It started off with Bert from the Netherlands then Tobias and his mum(our regular borrowers). A Japanese lady enjoyed the use of the piano for a few hours until the afternoon storm came.
What a shame you don't find our piano decorations to your liking !
We purposely chose something simple so that children would be able to participate as well as adults as they are an important part of our community too and after all, it is the school holidays. If you have a better idea, other than the one (or similar) you have suggested in your comment , please come and run it past us. One person is going around all the pianos putting a 'rabbitoh' symbol on and that is perfectly acceptable. We would love someone to offer to do some decorations for us.
Unfotunately, one of the ads for the music lessons was done on the keys in liquid paper and nail polish and so was not what any pianist would think is appropriate as it would have made it quite difficult to play as well as looking awful. (also the music school is not in the City of Sydney , so has nothing to do with our community, here in Glebe)
