Play Me, I'm Yours

Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is artwork by British artist Luke Jerram. More than 600 pianos have now been installed in 26 cities across the globe, from New York to Sydney and now Los Angeles, bearing the simple invitation ‘Play Me, I’m Yours.’ The project has reached more than two million people worldwide, with each new city that commissions the work becoming part of a growing legacy.
For three weeks from April 12 to May 3 2012 Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra brought Play Me, I’m Yours to Los Angeles. Thirty pianos, designed and decorated by local artists and community organizations, were installed across Los Angeles County for everyone to play, in celebration of acclaimed conductor and pianist Jeffrey Kahane’s 15th anniversary as LACO music director. Singer/songwriter Sarah Ault came up with the concept of shooting at as many pianos as we could in one day! So we shot a quick music video for her track "Over My Head". The experience was like an exciting and unique scavenger hunt. Incredibly fun. Much thanks for coming to our city!
