Play Me, I'm Yours

Melbourne: 2014

Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by artist Luke Jerram.  More than 1050 street pianos have already been installed in 38 cities across the globe, bearing the simple invitation Play Me, I’m Yours.  The project has already reached more than four million people worldwide.

Arts Centre Melbourne presented Play Me, I’m Yours in Melbourne from 9 – 27 January 2014 as part of the Betty Amsden Participation Program.  Decorated by local community artists and located in public spaces at Arts Centre Melbourne, the CBD and surrounds, 24 street pianos were available for anyone to play and enjoy. You can still download a souvenir map of all the locations. ACM would also like to thank all their donors and supporters

There are still two street pianos available to play at the Arts Centre Melbourne: one in the Theatres Foyer and the other downstairs in Car Park – have fun!

This website was set up for you to post and share your films, photos and stories about the pianos. While documenting each piano’s journey, it connects the pianos and their neighborhoods across the city and acts as a legacy for the artwork. Choose a piano location to post and/or view films, photos, and comments.

Play Me I'm Yours was the perfect excuse to make a film clip for the piano-powered pop single, Just Looking, from Alanka's debut EP, Pieces. Filmed at 13 of the 24 street pianos in a single day, we asked the Melbourne public to get involved in making the film clip and this is what happened! Melbourne has never looked this good! Check out the talented strangers we became friends with one sunny Saturday in January. Thanks 'Play Me, I'm Yours'. We couldn't have done it without you!
