Pacific Grove: Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds
Presented by Monterey Symphony in partnership with Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds and decorated by Tehila Eisenstat. Located on the porch of Phoebe A. Hearst Social Hall.
This is the last piano in Monterey then on to Carmel, the group sitting there were playing and hawking any other players,"Who has come to play?" they call out if no one was stepping they kept the keys warm for the next player who came by. When I said I came to play they excitedly sat on the bench to listen and applaude.

Report this commentI couldn't let this opportunity pass. My friend Andy is an amazing pianist with a head full of classical as well as modern music. I invited him to join me and my wife to tour the 'Play Me, I'm Yours' art pianos around Monterey and environs.
I brought my harmonicas and we set out to Del Monte Center to begin our tour. We prayed that God would provide 'divine appointments' along the way and he answered us in wonderful ways. Our first appointment was with Bob, a retired Submariner with a wonderful gift of music. Then there was Cecilia whom we met at the Monterey Museum of Art who was on a business trip from Crescent City.
Our final appointment was with two lads from Tel Aviv who were playing a funky blues duet. They kindly obliged me to join them with my blues harp.
As the deer grazed nearby I videoed Andy playing this wonderful piece by Brahms (I hope).
Enjoy!

I am a local musician, songwriter, & music instructor (Sweetsongs4u@aol.com), and I am thoroughly enjoying the pianos. I'd like to thank Monterey Symphony & all involved in providing this interactive art exhibit. Also special thanks to Michael Meloy, from Asilomar State Beach, for helping me find the piano, which was relocated due to construction.
