Report this commentAs I waited at Stoke Station for a lift home yesterday, I was surprised to hear a piano. There, in the entrance was a teenaged lad and his little sister, who had her face painted like a butterfly. They were sitting side by side on the piano stool, playing "chopsticks" and it made me smile to watch them so absorbed in their music. After a while the young man decided to have a go at something a bit more complicated but he was struggling a bit. At that point a gentleman commuter, who was probably in his sixties, sat down next to the young man on the piano stool and began to play the same tune... He sounded as if he'd played all his life and he filled the station with the most beautiful sound. I was transfixed at this "moment in time", where music united everyone in that space. Age, colour, beliefs didn't matter... So, thank you. I didn't film it or photograph it but it is a moment I will always remember.
