Play Me, I'm Yours
Hangzhou: 2012
Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is artwork by British artist Luke Jerram. More than 700 pianos have now been installed in 34 cities across the globe, from New York to Sydney and now Los Angeles, bearing the simple invitation ‘Play Me, I’m Yours.’ The project has reached more than two million people worldwide, with each new city that commissions the work becoming part of a growing legacy.
From 5th to 15th November 2012 Guohua and FM968 together presented Play Me, I’m Yours in Hangzhou, China for the first time. Eighteen pianos, designed and decorated by student of China Academy of Art were installed across Hangzhou for everyone to play. Click here to download a souvenir piano map (pdf), that indicates where the pianos were located.
This website was made for the public to post their comments, films and photos about the pianos. Whilst documenting each piano’s journey, the website will connect the pianos and their communities across the city. After being in place for eleven days, the were donated to local schools and community groups.
